World-class Wine Auction for Niagara
Wow, it's been a while since I last posted… I've spent the better part of the last month in the wine paradise of California, but I'm back and will have lots to post through the summer.
One thing caught my eye today. The Wine Council of Ontario announced a couple of days ago a plan for a "world-class wine auction" scheduled for June 22-24, 2007. This could be fun.
Here's a snip from the press release:
NiagaraontheLake, ON (Aug. 8, 2006) Ontario Premier Dalton McGuintyand the Wine Council of Ontario (WCO) unveiled plans today for the Niagara Wine Auction, an exciting new worldclass wine and culinaryevent featuring celebrities and the best of Ontario’s premium wine.
The Wines Of Ontario site has lots of great info too. There are PDF versions of the famous driving map as well as the Official 2006 Guide to the Wineries of Ontario
Congrats WCO, it's about time.
Now let's see how they can pull off the 'first' Wine Auction in Niagara Region. Having been to many, several times, it will be interesting to see it all come together.
