Vintage Assessments regularly posts PDFs listing every new release expected at Vintages and I usually browse this to see if anything interesting is on its way. These days, I rarely find anything compelling enough to care as most of my purchases are directly from agents or via the Classics "lottery".
There are some big hitting CA cabs with big hitting price tags this release with the 2003 Montelena Estate Cab ($131.75), 2004 Caymus Special Selection ($171.65) and 2002 Beringer Private Reserve Cab ($119.95). So much for getting any benefit from our dollar at parity.
From Australia, it's time for the 2005 Dead Arm ($55.59), 2005 Penfolds Bin 389 ($34.95) a big, thick and chewy cab/shiraz blend.
About the only interest I have in this release is from Chateauneuf-du-Pape with the release of the 2005 Le Vieux Donjon ($56.40) and the 2005 Domaine Grand Veneur Les Origines ($53.95)
If I find any of the CNdP the next time I'm at Vintages, I'll pick some up, but otherwise, this looks like a pass.
