Monday at the Miller

It's hard to imagine that today's Miller Tavern bears any relationship to the old Jolly Miller tavern. The new place looks great with a warm bar lounge area on the main floor and proper restaurant seating upstairs. In the summer, there's a great outdoor patio. The food is very good with seasonal specials and a good balance of seafood and meat dishes.

The reason for this post is that in addition to a nice wine list, the Miller supports BYO and on Monday's offers $1 corkage. Yes, that's right, $1 corkage.

Last night, we enjoyed a great bottle of 2001 Martinelli Martinelli Reserve Pinot Noir. It paired amazingly well with the dim sum appetizer as well as our main dishes.

Wow, Toronto has come a long way and it's great to see restaurants embrace progressive attitudes around BYO!

The Miller is a great place to take a bottle of wine. We have gone there a couple of times and it was always fantastic.
