The Standard of St. Catherines is reporting that the ice wine harvest began yesterday as temperatures crossed the magic -8°C threshold.
But as is the case in so many wine regions, there's a debate going on as to whether everything is ready/fully mature for harvest or not.
The article is an interesting look in to the making of Niagara's signature grape and the decisions that wine makers face every harvest.
Hi, Just wish I knew the author here.
Found your blog as I simply love Icewine and was writing a blog about the Niagara Icewine Festival and the harvest.
Anyway, I've put up a link for your blog and you can read about it if you follow the link to my blog at the directory of toronto.
Thanks!
